Mr. Robert (Rob) Wessels

Rob Wessels is the Vice President of the Network Cable Business Unit at CommScope, where he has worked for more than 30 years. At CommScope, he has been involved in the design and development of optical fiber cables, twisted pair cabling, and various network and wireless applications. Rob holds 12 patents in the field of telecommunications cable design. In 2012, Rob received th Distinguished Career Award from the Wire and Cable Manufacturers Alliance. Early on in his career, he played an active role in setting telecommunications standards for the Telecommunications Industry Association and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. 

Rob holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University. Immediately after graduating from Georgia Tech, Rob worked for AT&T for seven years. Besides serving on the Board of Advisors for the College of Engineering, Rob has also been a member of the Board of Directors for the Catawba Science Center and the Internatinonal Wire and Cable Symposium.
