Materials Testing of Highway Composite Concrete

Researchers are testing the mechanical properties of composite concrete materials being used by the NC DOT to improve North Carolina roadways.
In an effort to improve the strength, reliability and smoothness of North Carolina's roadways, engineers are designing new composite mixtures for concrete highway construction. Researchers from the William States Lee College of Engineering are testing the mechanical properties of these materials for the North Carolina Department of Transportation to determine how well they are performing now, and will perform in the future.
