To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the graduation of UNC Charlotte’s first bachelor of engineering students, The William States Lee College of Engineering has a number of special events planned for 2015.

Kicking off the anniversary year, Lee College of Engineering alumni, family and friends attended a Charlotte Knights baseball game on April 10. Participants enjoyed renewing old friendships, catching up with former professors, and traditional baseball activities such as cheering the home team and eating hot dogs.

The second 50th anniversary event will take place at the college’s annual fall picnic on September 25th. All current students will be invited to celebrate with a band, food and drink on the UNC Charlotte campus.

Completing the anniversary year, college alumni, donors, scholarship winners, faculty and friends will celebrate and reminisce at the second annual Legacy Banquet. The event will be October 29 at the UNC Charlotte Center City in uptown Charlotte.

More information about these events, as well as a special 50th anniversary medallion being created, timeline of the college, and photos from the past can be found here.
