Henry Batten
Henry Batten, a native of Georgia and raised in Arizona, attended and graduated from Arizona State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy. After spending several years in industry, he attended the University of Alabama Executive Master’s of Business Administration program where he graduated with an MBA degree in 1994.
Since graduating from Arizona State University, Batten has worked in various positions within the construction industry to include Controller, Branch Manager and Vice President with APAC, Inc.’s various operating subsidiaries. Since July 1998, he has been employed with Concrete Supply Co. in Charlotte, NC, in various capacities including Chief Financial Officer, Vice President – Finance, Executive Vice President, and President.
Batten’s current and past responsibilities include the organization’s general management, logistics, engineering, quality control and administrative support functions. He has led and participated in various operational committees aimed at improving customer service, quality, productivity, cost control and operational effectiveness. Batten has assumed a leadership role in the development and implementation of the company’s strategic planning effort, benchmarking operational and financial performance, organizational succession and risk management issues, and was appointed President in 2010.
Batten has three daughters, Ashley, Stephanie and Natalie. He is a Past Chairman of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, has been a member of the Board of Directors, and has chaired or served on various committees, including the Business Administration, Legal Activities, Government Affairs, and Operations, Environment and Safety committees. He is a past President of the Carolinas Ready Mixed Concrete Association and has served on the Board of Directors and served as a past Chairman of the Legislative Committee. He is a past member of the National Steering Committee for the Concrete Industry Management program and the past Chairman of the Executive Advisory Council for the Concrete Industry Management Program at Middle Tennessee State University. He currently co-chairs the Concrete Sustainability Hub at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is past Chair of the RMC Foundation and continues to serve on its board. He is a board member for Catapult headquartered in Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. He serves his community through Williamson’s United Methodist Church and various charitable organizations.
