49er Rocketry aims high for NASA rocket competition victory

Determined to reclaim their place at the top of the podium, nine Charlotte engineering students have invested 2,500 hours over eight weeks building a rocket designed to soar between 4,000 and 6,000 feet, land by parachute, and complete a soil test within 15 minutes for NASA’s University Student Launch Initiative in April 2026.
