Engineering students contribute design ideas to I-77 South Reimagining Project
Civil engineering students Manaiyah Raybon and Kristina Proffitt-Little were mentioned in The Charlotte Observer for their contributions to Sustain Charlotte’s “Reimagining 77 South” project, which invited residents to submit alternative design ideas for the I-77 South toll lane corridor. The students advocated for capping the highway to create multi-use space with strong economic and sustainability benefits, presenting their vision alongside architects, urban planners and community members at the Charlotte Ideas Festival held at UNC Charlotte’s Dubois Center.
