Better tech for babies

Noah News reported on the U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health’s four-year, $90.7 million Making Obstetrics Care Smart initiative, which selected UNC Charlotte among eight teams tasked with modernizing maternal and infant care. Housed within the William States Lee College of Engineering, the University’s project focuses on developing an autonomous wearable ultrasound system to assess placental health and identify mothers at greater risk of complications before labor begins.
