Why is the energy field so critical?
The urgency for energy infrastructure expertise has never been greater. The U.S. has entered an era of surging electricity demand driven by AI data centers, advanced manufacturing and the broader electrification of the economy. As a nation, we are also experiencing increasingly severe weather and supply chain constraints. The demand for energy is rising, but the infrastructure to support it is aging. The power plants, transmission lines, substations and local distribution systems are not built for this level of demand.
