Eric Huhn College’s New Facility and Laboratory Safety Engineer

Eric Huhn has joined The William States Lee College of Engineering in the new position of Facility and Laboratory Safety Engineer.

Huhn is a 2008 Mechanical Engineering graduate of the Lee College of Engineering. He comes back to UNC Charlotte having spent time professionally as a mechanical engineer in the R&D and manufacturing sectors. He has also been a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the East Lincoln Fire Department since 2015.

In his new role, Huhn will be the head of laboratory safety for the college of engineering, project manager for college facilities projects, the liaison between the college and University Environmental Health and Safety, and the inventory specialist for engineering laboratories.

“I’m excited to be back at UNC Charlotte,” Huhn said. “I’m looking forward to helping students, faculty and staff work efficiently and safely in some of the finest engineering facilities in the country. I encourage anyone who has questions about safety or capital projects to contact me.”
