Charlotte’s Engineering Graduate Programs Receive Increased Recognition in U.S. News Rankings

U.S. News & World Report again ranked William States Lee College of Engineering among the Best Graduate Programs in the nation, according to the publication’s 2023-2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings, which were released Tuesday, April 25.

The overall ranking rose more than any other engineering school in North Carolina, with the electrical program increasing by six spots and the mechanical program jumping by ten. Civil engineering retained its high ranking. All three graduate programs rank in the top 100 in the nation.

The W.S. Lee College of Engineering’s Master of Science in Engineering Management, offered online, increased in U.S. News national rankings eight spots to No. 62 earlier in 2023.

According to U.S. News, W.S. Lee College of Engineering was listed among the best for having strong academic quality as well as high research activity and impact.

The College offers graduate degrees in all its academic areas of civil, environmental, computer, electrical, mechanical, fire protection and safety management, applied energy and electromechanical, and construction and facilities. In total, 11 UNC Charlotte graduate programs or specialties saw increases in the rankings.
