Mini Carolinas Conference

The Mini Carolinas Conference, or MC^2, is Charlotte Engineering’s take on the Carolinas Conference (college-level engineering competition). Our College of Engineering faculty and students open their doors to high school students for a full day of hands-on engineering. Plan to attend not only for exiting competitions, but also to tour our labs and to meet our current engineering students.

The competition includes five events. One of these five events does require mandatory preparation ahead of time, which is the design and construction of a popsicle stick bridge. These bridges will be built in groups of 4-6 students so please plan accordingly.

The competition day typically lasts from 8:15 a.m. to 1:25 p.m. and includes a pizza lunch for all students and teachers. Spaces are limited, so register your class and provide your student list as soon as possible, first come, first served.

Photos and videos of your students may be captured during the MC^2 event and used by the University in public communications. You agree that all students may be photographed unless prior arrangements are made with Dr. Erika Weber at at least three weeks before the event.
