Dr. Matt Davies is teaching Introduction to Biomechanics in fall 2009. The class covers static, dynamic and structural analysis of the musculoskeletal system, mechanical behavior of bone and soft tissues, and analysis of common engineered implants.

Established in 2005, CBES is led by Director Robin Coger, who is a professor in the Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science Department.

With the goal of developing laboratory research into clinical applications, two UNC Charlotte researchers formed HepatoSys Inc. in 2005. The spin-off company was started by Dr. Charles Lee of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Mark Clemens of Biology.
